With summer fast approaching, many of us feel concerned with dark spots (also called hyperpigmentation) on our face, as the sun makes these spots darker. There are many factors that cause these conditions, but excess sun exposure is often responsible for many of the problems regarding skin pigmentation disorder, so it’s absolutely necessary to not leave our homes without wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen to prevent it.
There are many different skin treatments that can help lighten the dark spots, such as laser treatments, or using skin care products containing ingredients like niacinamide, Ethoxydiglycol, witch hazel, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate. Using products containing these ingredients will help lighten the hyperpigmentation, but it might take some time to see results (6 months to a year) so it is important to stick to using the products as many people get discouraged from using them after not seeing immediate results.
Remember, it’s always best to check with skin care professionals and dermatologists before starting any program to treat hyperpigmentation.
