With summer fast approaching, many of us feel concerned with dark spots (also called hyperpigmentation) on our face, as the sun makes these spots darker. There are many factors that cause these conditions, but excess sun exposure is often responsible for many of the problems regarding skin pigmentation disorder, so it’s absolutely necessary to not leave our homes without wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen to prevent it.
There are many different skin treatments that can help lighten the dark spots, such as laser treatments, or using skin care products containing ingredients like niacinamide, Ethoxydiglycol, witch hazel, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate. Using products containing these ingredients will help lighten the hyperpigmentation, but it might take some time to see results (6 months to a year) so it is important to stick to using the products as many people get discouraged from using them after not seeing immediate results.
Remember, it’s always best to check with skin care professionals and dermatologists before starting any program to treat hyperpigmentation.
Rosacea is a common, chronic skin condition which consists of red patches, small red bumps and visible broken blood vessels. It is important to note that although sometimes referred to as “adult acne” rosacea is not acne and the two should not be treated as one. It is primarily found on the central region of the face and nose and is typically seen in fairer skins. Some causes may be related to genetics, sun exposure, or gastrointestinal disease and can be triggered by stress, extreme temperatures and winds, alcohol consumption, or spicy foods.
Although rosacea is not curable, it can be treated and controlled with the use of topical or oral antibiotics as well as laser skin treatments. Certain lifestyle changes can also be made to aid in lessening the redness such as avoiding sun exposure and always using a sunscreen, limiting spicy foods or hot beverages, and limiting alcohol consumption. A good tip when facing these cold winter days and harsh winds is to be sure to cover up one’s face with a scarf or ski mask to avoid a flare up!
Often, clients who come in for chemical peels ask us how they could obtain the same results of soft, glowing skin after their facial treatments. With summer just around the corner, we want to get rid of the dry, flaky skin not only on our faces, but on our bodies as well. Derma-Lac Lotion by Environ, followed by their A, C & E Oil can give you the same results!
Here is how it works:
Derma-Lac Lotion contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids which help to exfoliate dry scales while deeply moisturizing and softening sun parched skin. The body will have a more even look to skin texture and tone, giving it a glowing, hydrated and radiant appearance. It is best used in combination with A, C & E Oil as it allows for absorption of such vitamins. It really is like getting a chemical peel for your whole body.
A, C & E Oil is a light oil formulated with a high concentration of vitamins and antioxidants to help energize dry and sun damaged skin, giving it a velvety soft feeling. It assists in protecting the skin from the effects of harmful external influences, while helping to prevent the appearance of fine lines and uneven skin tone. The skin will look and feel healthy and nourished. Try using them for about a week and your skin will feel absolutely amazing! It will also give your legs a nice sheen which is always a plus when wearing skirts or dresses!
It's important to understand how packaging can influence the effectiveness and shelf life of your skin care products. Almost all professional grade facial treatment products come in airless pump bottles or light-blocking tubes. Unfortunately, many of the product lines sold in department stores and pharmacies are still packaging even their most expensive products in jars.
Once a jar is opened, all of its contents are exposed to the elements, and the beneficial ingredients you're paying for begin to deteriorate. Antioxidants like Vitamin A, C & E quickly become unstable and inactive when exposed to air. And unlike airless pump bottles, something must be dipped into a jar to dispense the product, most likely a finger. The companies that produce these jar packaged facial creams account for the resulting microbial invasion by loading up their products with preservatives. What you end up with is an expensive jar full of preservatives and the inactive remains of rejuvenating and anti-aging ingredients.
Why not skip the expensive packaging and try Environ’s powerful vitamin A & C based AVST and C-Quence product lines. Packaged in airless pump bottles of course!
